All that's going on!

Getting involved with #Farm24

So, today is #farm24 with @farmersguardian and @morrisons so I thought I should probably add a post to explain a bit about us and what we do, which may help those who have followed us through Facebook and Instagram recently too.
Alongside our 93 acre working farm we also have a traditional Dartmoor bed and breakfast, and a specialist equine retirement livery yard on Dartmoor in Devon. Horses on holiday are very welcome to stay with us too.
We have cattle, pigs, chickens, ducks, cats, horses and a dog.....oh and tropical fish. Would love to add pet sheep and goats at some point too! Watch this space. 😂
Just in case you didn't know, we are a 'Red Tractor' approved farm and have regular inspections to ensure that the farm and it's livestock is up to their high standards - often said to be one of (of not) the best welfare standards in the world.
Inspections include everything from regular worming of our pet dog, space requirements in the cattle shed and registering, frequently of use and handling of medications. They also look at how many illnesses and injuries we've seen during a year (hopefully very few) - and what we've done to reduce these. Ensuring that our animals welfare is upmost importance.

    Welcome

Just a little bit about all that's going on at Lowertown Farm, in the heart of Dartmoor National Park where the wild ponies roam on England's largest wilderness.
