Interesting letter written to Horse & Hound last year which of course brings out a load of emotions for horsey people.
We decided to specialise in full retirement livery, which of course doesn't suit everyone's circumstances, but should be considered if the horse is happy and healthy.
It means that retired horses can enjoy whatever time they have left here, rather than be passed on from home to home, either on loan, or sold on, with their owners still deeply involved in their management and care.
Plus so that owners can - if they wish - purchase a younger horse knowing that their older horse's ongoing care is going to be managed with that horse's welfare coming first.....including the vital but necessary end of life care which is by far the toughest part of the job.
As we purely specialise in retirement livery, the horse won't have the stresses of daily life with other horses coming and going that you may find at other livery yards.
